Questions and answers

Optimal conditions are a humidity of 65-75% and a temperature of 18-21°C Alternative storage if no humidor is available: Use a sealed box with a humidity pad and distilled water. A wine cellar may also be suitable.

The cigar feels neither too dry nor too moist. It yields gently when lightly pressed. The wrapper is smooth and without cracks.

Hand-rolled cigars contain long fillers (whole tobacco leaves) and often offer better taste and quality. Machine-rolled cigars contain short filler (chopped tobacco) and are simpler and cheaper.

Formats such as Double Robusto or Toro are ideal. Basic rule: thicker and longer = milder, shorter and thinner = stronger.

Robusto: The best known format. Double Robusto (Churchill): The most famous format. Salamones: The queen of cigars. Toro: The tester. Lancero: The producers' favorite.

Hold the lighter at a 45° angle to the cigar and avoid direct contact with the flame. Roll the cigar between your thumb and forefinger to light it evenly.

Place the cigar gently in an ashtray. It will extinguish itself. Never stub it out, otherwise it will smoke and smell unpleasant.

Criteria: Draw; consistency of flavor; ash quality; aroma development

Claro: Mild, grassy notes. Maduro: Dark, sweet and spicy. Oscuro: Very dark, strong and earthy. The wrapper significantly influences the aroma and character of the cigar.

Storage that is too dry: cigars crumble and lose flavor. Too humid storage: risk of mold and poor draw quality. Unsuitable humidor: Poor sealing or incorrect humidification system.

“Puro” means that all the components of the cigar (filler, binder, wrapper) come from a single country, e.g. Cuban cigars or the Patoro Platino from the Dominican Republic.

The wrapper has a significant influence on the taste, aroma and appearance of the cigar. A high quality wrapper enhances the overall experience.

A good cigar should neither draw too lightly (overheated smoke) nor too heavily (poor draw). This guarantees a pleasant smoking experience.

Aging harmonizes the aromas. Bitter substances are reduced and the cigar develops more complex flavor nuances.

Longfiller: Whole tobacco leaves, handmade, high quality. Shortfiller: Tobacco remnants, machine-made, cheaper. Mediumfiller: Mixture of both, medium-priced, machine-made or hand-made.

Cut about 1-2 mm from the head to avoid damaging the wrapper. Use a guillotine or a cutter for this.

Yes, you should. It gives the cigar a new, spectacular smoking experience.

The one you like. There are no rules - whatever is fun is allowed! Enjoy your Patoro cigar consciously and with pleasure. We say: Better one cigar a week in full enjoyment than five a day without true appreciation. Quality before quantity - that is our philosophy, which we live and love.
