Responsible agriculture and expert craftsmanship

It is difficult to date the beginning of tobacco cultivation by the indigenous people of the Caribbean islands and the Mesoamerica zone but it was discovered by Christoph Columbus and his sailors during his travels in this region from 1492.

Each region had its characteristic Nicotiana tabacum seed varieties but the migratory flows have had the effect that they often traveled with the migrants to be grown on other soils. This was especially the case during and after the Cuban Revolution in 1958, when some tobacco producers emigrated to North America, Central and South American countries and of course to the Dominican Republic taking with them the precious Cuban seeds.

The main goal of Patrik J. Martin when he created his brand in 2001 was and still is to offer cigar aficionados positive emotions during moments of intense pleasure, enjoyment and relaxation thank to the excellence of his cigars. It was therefore absolutely obvious for him to collaborate with the Reyes family, who has unique expertise in the cultivation of tobacco for six generations.

Tobaccos grown without pesticides on the best Dominican soils, ideally cured, fermented and matured for at least 3 to 12 years.

While the tobacco used in Patoro cigars is grown on the best soils of the Dominican Republic, the seeds are essentially of Cuban origin and the result of long development and research. Only the leaves of the Seco and Ligero levels in the middle of the plant are worthy of entering the composition of the Patoro cigar blends. These tobaccos are characterized by a rich and complex smoke that delights the senses. The technique of growing tobacco, the precise timing of the harvest, the particular care given to its multiple fermentations and finally the time devoted to the aging of tobacco which is at least 3 years and can last up to 12 years allow Patoro cigars to offer tastes and aromas that will satisfy the most demanding aficionados.
